Well... four builds started and one is finally ready to animate. She's one of my original designs for an old project; Wonderville.org. The client, Science Alberta Foundation, decided to go 3D so these designs were never used. Here's an early expression sheet: The rig, ready to animate... and the node view... This a pretty simple curve deformer rig with rubber-hose arms and legs and designed for as-needed re-draw opportunities. Time for some pose test and animation!
Special thanks to Tracy Strong for her awesome YouTube tutorials and mentoring on this build. Here is the ruff turnaround for my Rocketeer character. Still have to do the back and back 3-qtr views. I will be cleaning it up and then creating a few builds in ToonBoom Harmony 15 Premium. The plan is to eventually do a 360 degree turn rig but I will be building a three-quarter rig first so I can get some animation done with him. Then a multi-pose rig before moving on to the arduous task of creating a full 360 degree rig (in my spare time).
Let's start with a few oldies... Here are some paintings I did for Science Alberta Foundation featuring some emotions of Crash the Robot. Crash was originally supposed to be a robotic vessel for the body-less brain of the Professor's former partner in science. Science Alberta Foundation liked that idea but went in a different direction.
